As a rule, the Roche Research Foundation does not support technical staff.

You can apply for a fellowship. In exceptional cases, financial support will be granted to cover travel costs, consumables, or specialized equipment (see Guidelines).

Research fellowships are granted according to internal rules of the RRF, the fellowships being comparable to those of other Swiss funding agencies. Note that unlike other funding agencies (e.g., the SNF), the RRF does not provide salaries, but true research fellowships, which are not subject to taxes or social benefit payments; therefore, RRF fellowships have to be compared to SNF salaries after deduction of taxes and social overhead payments.

A fellowship may be extended for another period. The need for such an extension must be documented in a new application that has to be submitted together with a project report.

The RRF participates in the Swiss MD-PhD program an awards each year one MD-PhD fellowship for the duration of three years.

Every year, the RRF awards a prize of CHF 10,000.-- for the best MD thesis involving basic biomedical research at the University of Basel Medical School.
The recipient is nominated by the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel.
